STATEMENTS FROM GHF INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN ACREE
June 27, 2025
“Through the hard work of the GHF team and the cooperation of our partners on the ground, we were able to deliver nearly two million meals today. We remain hopeful that other humanitarian organizations are able to resume their full distribution efforts in the area soon. We share one goal: to feed the civilian population of Gaza, and GHF cannot do it alone.
“Our team is very grateful for yesterday’s commitment by the Trump Administration to invest $30 million in our life-saving operations. Now more than ever, we need unity and collaboration to get aid directly to the hands of those who need it most, and this support will be instrumental.”
UPDATES AND CORRECTIONS
INACCURATE NEWS REPORTING: There are reports from The Times of Israel that aid will be halted in the coming days. GHF is not impacted by this. We successfully completed our deliveries today without incident, and will continue our operations in the coming days.
While false allegations of attacks near aid distribution sites have been less frequent in the past several days, this has unfortunately become a consistent pattern. Inaccurate reporting of events in the region hampers distribution of life-saving aid to those who need it most.
Our GHF news monitoring continues to reveal inaccurate news coverage by international media outlets linking GHF sites to violent incidents that did not occur near our sites, but in fact occurred at United Nations’ (UN) convoy sites or other humanitarian groups who operate near our site.
Yesterday, the New York Times published an extremely misleading and inaccurate account of GHF’s operations, relying uncritically on the Hamas-affiliated Gaza Health Ministry for its information and refusing to acknowledge Hamas’ control over the source. The UN’s own report has made it clear that violence has been occuring at its sites, not GHF’s, and we have asked the New York Times for corrections.
BOTTOM LINE: The Hamas-affiliated Gaza Health Ministry is not a credible source of information.
