STATEMENTS FROM GHF INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN ACREE
August 2, 2025
“GHF welcomed United States Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, to observe Friday’s food distribution at Khan Younis. We also had the honor to host President Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, as we presented the 100 million meal ration to a Gazan mother and assisted her in receiving her food. While we surpassed the 100 million meals delivered mark yesterday, with no security incidents, we are right back to work today distributing more than 1.7 million meals. Our humanitarian aid workers are committed to the mission of feeding as many people in Gaza as possible, and I continue to be impressed and thankful for their determination and resolve. Thank you, Ambassador Huckabee and Special Envoy Witkoff, for your participation and support in this milestone event.
“Operating in an active war zone presents many challenges, but GHF continues to adapt and overcome — the people of Gaza deserve as much. At the same time, we continue our calls for other humanitarian groups, including the UN, to join us to deliver even more aid. We are prepared to assist these organizations in safely delivering their aid.”
