In addition to a general food distribution, GHF is conducting a Blanket Supplemental Feeding Program (BSFP) to prevent malnutrition for vulnerable women and children using Ready-to-Use Supplemental Food (RUSF). RUSF is formulated to both treat and prevent acute malnutrition in vulnerable groups.
Today, seven pallets (about 43,750 individual packs) of RUSF were distributed at SDS3.
Additionally, two potato and two onion truckloads were distributed at SDS3 as part of our ongoing pilot program to provide supplemental food to our established distribution portions and feed more people in Gaza.
Approximately 184,530,251 meals distributed to date via roughly 3,108,304 boxes.
SAFETY/SECURITY
Distributions at all sites ran smoothly today, helping protect all civilians present.
STATEMENTS FROM GHF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN ACREE
October 9, 2025
“Yesterday’s announcement by President Trump of a long-awaited Gaza peace deal is welcome news. We thank all those who worked tirelessly to make it a reality and are hopeful that this will create conditions on the ground that enable the needs of all Gazans to be met.
“With more than 184 million meals now delivered, our secure distribution sites have become a central role in daily life in Gaza. These sites provide reliable, direct access to food for families who would otherwise go without, and they ensure aid is received in an orderly and dependable way.
“We remain committed to supporting the people of Gaza with hope, dignity, and trust, and are eager to work alongside all those who share this mission. Let us hope that the coming days and weeks will bring a lasting peace.”
