STATEMENTS FROM GHF INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN ACREE
June 25, 2025
“I’m proud of the GHF team for once again safely distributing nearly two million meals to the people of Gaza today without any injury or incident at any of our sites. This brings our total meals delivered to nearly 44 million in just four weeks. We are always coordinating with our partners on the ground to make further improvements to our operations to ensure the safest and most secure aid distribution possible.
“We continue to combat misinformation spread by Hamas and picked up by international news organizations, but we remain undeterred – our system is working, and we are saving lives.”
UPDATES AND CORRECTIONS
INACCURATE NEWS REPORTING: There continue to be false allegations of attacks near aid distribution sites, which have since been discredited and walked back. This has unfortunately become a consistent pattern. Inaccurate reporting of events in the region hampers distribution of life-saving aid to those who need it most.
Our GHF news monitoring continues to reveal inaccurate news coverage by international media outlets linking GHF sites to violent incidents that did not occur near our sites, but in fact occurred at United Nations’ (UN) convoy sites or other humanitarian groups who operate near our site.
Reuters falsely reported that a violent incident happened on route to a GHF site, and later corrected its story to reflect that there was no incident near the GHF aid site.
Additionally, CBS broadcasted an on-air package using misinformation provided by the Hamas-affiliated Gaza Health Ministry. We have requested an on-air correction but have yet to receive a corrected version.
BOTTOM LINE: The Hamas-affiliated Gaza Health Ministry is not a credible source of information.
